There’s something shifting at Bar Yarra and it’s bringing a little more warmth, flavour and energy to the street.
Acclaimed chef George Colambaris has taken over the kitchen with a Greek residency that’s been quietly building momentum… and now, due to popular demand, it’s been extended through until May. George Colambaris brings a unique flair to the dishes that truly enhances the dining experience.
Originally launched as a limited run, the response has been strong enough to keep it going — a good sign for anyone who hasn’t made it in yet.
The menu leans into generous, share-style dining with familiar Greek flavours done well. Think grilled meats, fresh seafood, classic dips and warm, relaxed hospitality – the kind of food that suits a table of friends and a slower evening.
It’s a natural fit for Toorak Road. As the evenings cool, the street shifts into dinner mode and this residency adds another reason to settle in rather than rush through.
Bar Yarra itself has always had an easy, social feel. This residency builds on that – bringing a sense of occasion without making it complicated.
For locals, it’s something a little different without leaving the neighbourhood.
For visitors, it’s another reason to spend the evening in South Yarra.
Now extended through May.
Worth making a night of it.
